Our Story
The Heart of Miss Lillian's
Miss Lillian Miller grew up in Westmoreland, Jamaica, and opened her first shop in Hopewell, Darliston, as a young woman. She sourced goods from across the island—spices, yams, ackee, you name it—and built a business when women rarely did.
She later moved to Darliston with her husband Roy and ran a supermarket and cook shop there: open all day, serving oxtail, cow foot, tripe and beans, fried chicken, curry goat—whatever people craved. She cooked with love, fed crowds, and threw parties that felt like family.
After she passed, her legacy lived on. Here in America, Miss Lillian’s Caribbean Pantry—an online store selling Jamaican and Caribbean products—exists because we’re inspired by her grit, her heart, and how she never backed down.
